Gravel that stays clean after monsoon season.
Guardian Landscape sprays your yard six times a year, every other month. Pre-emergent stops new seeds. Post-emergent knocks out what pushes through.

Pre-emergent and post-emergent, in plain words
Pre-emergent stops seeds. Post-emergent knocks out weeds that are already up.
- Pre-emergent stops weed seeds from germinating, which means taking root. It does not kill weeds already growing. It controls broadleaf weed seeds, the most common weeds. Very invasive weeds may need more.
- Post-emergent is a spray that knocks out weeds that push through.
Both are applied mostly as a liquid spray, the most common method in landscaping.
Why there are six visits, not two
Two visits a year was not enough, so we added four.
We started with two pre-emergent visits a year. First-time clients still had weeds. So we added four post-emergent visits between them. Weeds dropped a lot, and more clients stayed with us. That is the plan you see above.
How long the pre-emergent lasts
The product and rate we use gives about 8 months of residual.
Residual is how long the pre-emergent stays active after it goes down. On gravel yards, liquid pre-emergent sits on the rocks until rain or snow washes it into the soil. A long residual gives that rain time to arrive. Read more in our guide to pre-emergent timing in Prescott.
What you do between visits
Nothing special. The plan is built so you are not out there pulling weeds.
The goal is no surprise weeds after every rain, no weekends spent pulling what keeps coming back, and a clean yard you are proud of.
Why we treat the whole yard
Spot treating alone misses seeds.
Seeds arrive by wind and animals, and they stay viable a long time. A weed-free yard last year is not protection this year. So we treat the whole yard, with extra attention where weeds always show up, like along driveways.
If your HOA or a neighbor notices weeds first
The aim is a yard nobody has to point out to you.
That is the point of the plan: no surprise weeds after every rain, and a yard you are proud of before your HOA or a neighbor says a word.
