Two visits was not enough. So we added four.
We started with two pre-emergent visits a year. First-time clients still had weeds. So we added four post-emergent visits between them. Weeds dropped a lot, and more clients stayed with us.
- Pre-emergent stops weed seeds from germinating. It does not kill weeds already growing.
- Post-emergent knocks out the weeds that push through.
- We treat the whole yard, with extra attention where weeds always show up, like along driveways.

Questions we hear a lot.
How many visits are in the plan?
Six a year, every other month. Month 1 and month 7 are pre-emergent plus post-emergent. Months 3, 5, 9 and 11 are post-emergent.
What is the difference between pre-emergent and post-emergent?
Pre-emergent stops weed seeds from germinating, so it does not kill weeds already growing. Post-emergent is a spray that knocks out weeds that push through.
How long does the pre-emergent last?
The pre-emergent product and rate Guardian Landscape uses gives about 8 months of residual. That is how long it stays active, waiting for moisture to carry it into the soil.
Does this work on gravel yards?
Yes. Gravel and rock yards are the core of what we treat. Liquid pre-emergent sits on the rocks until rain or snow washes it into the soil, which is why a long residual matters.
Is spot treating enough?
Not on its own. We treat the whole yard, with extra attention where weeds always show up, like along driveways. Seeds arrive by wind and animals and stay viable a long time.
How much does it cost?
Plans start at $750 a year for all six visits. Bigger yards and steeper terrain cost more. Tell us your size and Guardian Landscape calls or texts you with your exact yearly price.
